Victor Eugene Sharpe, Jr. is God's visionary for the St. John the Great Cathedral Baptist Church located in Detroit, Michigan.  The Lord has called him for such a time as this.  He is a servant, gifted preacher, teacher, visionary, and a prophet of God who is sought after all across the country.

In August 2004, the Reverend Victor Eugene Sharpe, Jr. was called to Pastor St. John the Great Baptist Church.  Under the Leadership of Bishop Sharpe, St. John has seen many souls come to Christ and membership has increased over 400 percent. As of December 31, 2015 there have been over 900 people who been baptized in the last 11 years. In 2008 the Lord pressed upon Bishop Sharpe’s heart to re-locate the congregation because of the growth of the church.

 

Additionally, under his dynamic leadership, St John the Great has grown in more than just numbers.  There are more than 20 active and thriving ministries, and the church has moved to a larger building because of the growth which Bishop Sharpe gives all the glory to God. He has been consecrated as a Bishop in the Lord’s church.

 

Thus, Bishop Sharpe believes in the power of the Holy Spirit, and that with God all things are possible as God has gifted him with several gifts of the Spirit- the gift of healing being one and, the gift of Prophecy being another.  He is Spirit led, Bible-based, and Christ-driven.  One of his favorite sayings is, “If it had not been for the Lord on my side, where would I be?”  His prayer and desire is to be used by God to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ; to exercise spiritual gifts; to equip the saints for ministry; to promote missions and win the lost.  He is a sought after preaching  who preaches the “God News” of Jesus the Christ across the United States as well as overseas. Also, he is gifted in training Leadership and it is seen in his weekly Bible Class of over 100 disciples.
